Description: The farm derives its charming name from the legendary colony of tortoises that was found in the vlei in the 1800’s. The beautiful piece of land was dubbed Skilpadvlei and has been in the hands of the Joubert family since 1917. Today, fourth generation Willie Joubert upholds the proud family tradition of harnessing the rich potential of the land with a dedicated commitment to quality. Skilpadvlei is a fully operational 78ha farm.
Bed capacity: 3 Open plan bachelor cottages with a fully equipped kitchenette, living room area and en-suite bathroom with a shower. A three bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms (one en-suite), a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room. 3 cottage with 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and living room with additional twin beds. 11 double rooms with en-suite bathroom (shower) in the Manor house.
On-site facilities: Wine tasting and sales. Skilpadvlei Restaurant offers an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. BBQ facilities. WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge.
